At Dries Van Noten
The take away from this show? Steal your Dad's clothes, all your dad's clothes.
His shirts, his jeans, his sportcoats are all fair game now.
The great thing about this show and this look is that you don't have to wait till next Spring to dress like this. Layering oversized shirts, knits and sportcoats in Fall weights and textures can be a new and super cheap way to update your wardrobe.

The Sartorialist Turns 5 Years Old!
I didn't realize it until I received an email from a reader but yesterday The Sartorialist blog turned 5 years old!!
Thanks to everyone who has spent some time at my blog. I feel like we are just at the beginning of a long, fun journey.

On the Street...Matt, Atlanta
Garance and I LOVED Atlanta and Savannah.
We will be going back again very soon, hopefully before the end of this year. The people were so cool and so chic. This first trip was like a recon to get prepared for our return. Also, thanks to everyone that attended my exhibit opening, that was fun.
I really loved the Sid Mashburn shop (Matt works there). They offer a great edit of fashion and style items for gentleman. I will have to go back to do a more in-depth report on the shop but if you are in the area I recommend checking it out.
At this very moment I'm in Milan (where I do most of my shopping) but I keep thinking about a great "special edition" Barbour coat that I saw in Atlanta, My world is turning upside- down!

The Role Model - Angela Ahrendts
Angela gave me my first real job when I arrived in New York over 20 years ago.
She is an absolute star to me.
If you're thinking about getting into the business side of fashion, Angela Ahrendts should be your role model.
Last weekend The Wall Street Journal Magazine published a great profile on Angela. Here is the link Earning Her Stripes
